I don't think Scouty's 'dandruff' actually came from her at all! She
wasn't showing any signs of distress or unhealth or scratching at
herself... but the telltale is that now I've swept all the floors and
cleaned up the apartment, and groomed her thoroughly, and her
'dandruff' has disappeared as mysteriously as it came. John's
psoriasis makes him shed very badly and I can only assume that she was
picking it up while lying on the floor! It's a slight mystery why it
didn't show up on the other two girls, but Scouty's fur is thicker and
a little oilier and it tends to have quite a lot of static electricity
in it... So rather than being a reflection on her, I think it was a
reflection on the sad state of my housekeeping for the last month!

I'm working on that too... I've gone back to the Flylady and it's been
less than a week but things are looking much better around here. :)

My sympathy to John.  My grandmother had psoriasis, and I know it is
miserable.  Anyone who has, or knows someone who has it, doesn't find the
"heartbreak of psoriasis jokes the least bit funny.

Heartbreak of psoriasis jokes?  Never even heard of that.  I have
psoriasis occasionally.  It comes and goes.  Mostly it comes in times of
stress.  I'm lucky though that it's only really on my hair line and
sometimes in my eyebrows.  In college when I was having a rough time, it
was a little bit on my face, on the sides of my nose.  But that hasn't
happened in many years.

For those whose cats *do* have dandruff (Persia does and it doesn't cause
her to scratch or have any distress) - look for DermCaps liquid.  It's a
commbination of safflower oil, fish oil, Borage seed oil, and vitamin E.  A
couple of squirts mixed in the food once or twice a week really seems to
help.
