Our sweet Selena crossed the Bridge this morning. I don't know why and my heart is breaking. We were planning to leave for a race in St. Louis this morning around 3 a.m. I found her as I was about to make the bed. I want to have her body cremated so we're waiting until the vet office opens so we can take her to them. I can't bring myself to put her in the freezer until we return. I am thankful that she went before we left. It would hurt so much worse if I thought I had left her and she might have suffered. I just wish I'd known - I would have held her and told her I loved her. Selena wouldn't allow anyone to hold her and she spent so much of her life under the bed but lately she's been spending time with us getting pettings and brushing. She loved being brushed! I never saw this coming! I'm going to miss her so very much. We're going out of town after we take her to the vet and hopefully sometime over the weekend I can think about her without crying and I'll write an appropriate memorial for her.
