Some of you may remember Miranda's insistence that the blankie I had in
her carrier was not supposed to be there, but in the shower stall. Every
day, I would fold it and put it in her carrier, but would later find it
in my shower stall. Sometimes I would catch her dragging it from the
carrier - head held high, legs stiff and to the sides to avoid stepping
on the blankie, looking like a leopard dragging a deer - into the bathroom.
She's at it again, only now it's not the blankie. I bought a rug for the
bathroom, and Miranda has been fascinated by it. She sniffed it, she lay
on it, she crawled under it. Each time I went into the bathroom, the rug
would be crumpled up in a corner.
Early this morning, I woke to the sound of something dragging along the
floor. Of course I had to get up and look. It was Miranda, dragging the
bathroom rug into the living room. I just groaned and went back to bed.
Let her have her fun, we'll see where the rug ended up when I get up
properly.
A while later, the dragging sound came back and went into the bathroom
again. In the morning I found the rug in its original place, a little
crumpled, but obviously she had tried to set it out nicely. So, she'd
had an idea about interior design, she tried it out, it didn't work, so
she brought it back the way it used to be. Ah, the artistic temperament!

This is just too funny! Perhaps she thought she'd play with it a while in
the living room, then put it back so mommy wouldn't notice :)

For the ranking senior cat of the household, she's quite mischievous
and playful, isn't she?

I forgot to write about how pleased she was with herself afterwards.
When she is pleased with herself, she goes stomping around the flat. It
is incredible what a lot of noise such a small skinny cat can make when
she wants to. She went stomp-stomp-stomp here, she went
stomp-stomp-stomp there, and every now and then into the bathroom to
check her rug. She's such a funny little girl. So excited about a rug.

Good thing you don't have any neighbour below you ( I assume). One time
my downstairs
neigbhour complained about noises from my heater turning on and off.
Well my heater
is always off at night. Finally I figured it must be Rusty jumping on
and off the heating
duct before dawn. The noise woke me up. Now he sleeps his own room
where he can't make any noise that would disturb the neighbours, or me
either.

My Mom is a towering 4ft11in and you can hear her all over the house.
My Dad is 6ft+ and 200lb+ and walks more quietly, go figure.
Just think of all the money she's saving you. Interior Decoraters are
exspensive.
