I am still fiddling around with servers, posting on Aioe server and then
reading the posts on alt.free.newsservers (I can't post on alt.free)   I
have had a go at news.motzarella.org  but am having problems deciphering the
language.   Hope this posts on aioe as a few more messages have come down
this morning.  If I don't answer anyone you will know I am still having
problems.   Groan.    I did think of changing my local ISP but worry that a
new one might decide to snuff out newsgroups also.

Hi Bev!  I'm sorry you are having such trouble with your news server.
Why not try news.individual.net?  It's only 10 euros a year and they are
extremely reliable.  They even filter out a lot of nasty spam and dealt
excellently with that flooding we had last year. They don't do binaries
but are great for text only groups.

I can see this one OK. Have you considered news.individual.net not free but
very reasonably priced, €10 EUR = $20.59 NZD per _year_. They only carry
text newsgroups, no binaries, but they're very good at filtering spam.
