Victor, I've been meaning to ask (going out to look at the pictures Annie
posted reminded me again)... were the pictures you posted on "RPCA Pictures"
professionally done (I noticed one said "Photo by Tom..." - is that your
Tom, is he the photographer?)?  If they were not done by a professional,
were I you (or Tom), I'd seriously think about changing professions and
becoming a photographer.  The lighting, composition, clarity, and emotive
quality of those pictures are truly amazing!

Yeah, it's my Tom... :) He's not really a professional photographer, but
it's more of a hobby. It used to be an expensive hobby until we moved to
digital...

Thanks! He is really good at it and he has a good eye. You can see more
of his pictures at his website: http://soulofthegarden.com in the Daily
Muse section.

Oh my word!!  He is *GOOD*!!!  You can almost smell the flowers as you look
at the pictures.  I can't believe how he captured even the textures of the
leaves and blooms.

I liked the ones you took too - I thought the cactus sporting a crown of
snow was awesome.  It seems talent runs in your family, the birdhouse your
dad made was quite artistic also.

You know, I've been looking for a photographer to take portraits of my
babies, and I think there are lots of people who would pay for photos as
good as these.  I bet you guys could make a nice little nest egg even just
doing this on the side.

We love our digital camera. When we win the lotto, I'll be able to buy
Tom a really good one, with professional lenses and everything... :)

I enjoyed taking the snow pictures, except for the fact that it was very
cold and I was in my jammies. :) The birdhouses are built by Tom's dad,
we have many of them.

In theory, Tom is supposed to put together a coffee table book with his
pictures and musings. If only the day had 48 hours... he just recently
had to quit writing for the Good Life Magazine, he just doesn't have the
time anymore.

Oh, those elusive lotto winnings!  Sigh!!  I think I would get a *very*
large property and turn it into a home for all the homeless kitties I could
take in - complete with indoor/outdoor playrooms and lots and lots of neat
climbing toys.  But I'd also get me lots and lots of electronic toys too!

Oh, he really really should!  Something like "The Love of Cats" by Tom
Howard (ISBN 0-8317-1203-1 for those of you interested) would be great - I
know I'd buy a copy, so he'd have a least one guaranteed sale!

LOL, I just went to get this book and look at it again when I noticed
hundreds and hundreds of tiny claw indentations on the cover from cats
walking over it on the coffee table all these years (it was published in
1992).

You and I both! I'd be the crazy cat guy (maybe even d*gs too!) in the
huge ranch in the Hill Country.
