OK. I'm in a rotten mood and don't wish to take it out on any friends
here, especially those who are having a worse time of it than I am. Or
those who for any reason might be in a more fragile state.
But the about post isn't from anyone I know (I hope) and it really pisses me
off.
Cats make better pets than dogs because...
Basically because you can neglect them and get away with it?
Why have a pet at all it the whole point is its no bother?
And what if it does become a lot of work? Heave ho? Many of us have at one
time or another had a cat that was anything but low maintenance. Special
diets, insulin shots, vet bills that resemble the national debt.
No comment on locking anyone, cat or human in the bathroom for an hour.
They will both be planning their revenge and it won't be pretty.
And last I checked it wasn't an either/or choice. Even my dogs have
believed a
life without cats is only marginally worth living.

LOL, no kidding. I've heard this one before. But I think you can rest
assured that this point of view does not represent the majority of us
on this newsgroup, so we who have cats because we LOVE them are hardly
in the minority here!

Me, too. Thanks for saying it for me.

English is a brawling, promiscuous drunkard of a language made up of
mispronounced and stolen words from other languages, and that's what
makes it such a glory to speak. Usage pecksniffs who try to tell you that
colorful, unambiguous, expressive turns of phrase or sentence structure
are incorrect are the worst kind of bores.

And there was me thinking it was just me. Also the post appears to be spam
for a website, I was tempted to complain to Google, but that never seems to
do any good.

Exactly what I was thinking. Oscar *is* much easier to care for than
any dog -- when she's well. Right now, she can be a real pain in the
rump.

Catnews posted stuff I snipped because it was an insult to all my d*g
friends and also to cats and people. Other than that, it was fine.

Bear agrees. His cats are among his favorite people. He is maybe the
only non-cat who can get along with Missy, hisser at primates. In fact,
I think she likes him at least as well as she likes the other cats. She
only doesn't like hoomans.
