Ok, I'm tired but I've promised to make my grandson some fresh salsa now
that the tomatoes are getting ripe.

And for Victor's sake if nothing else I promise to leave the celery out.
But I think I'm forgetting something else I need for a good fresh salsa.
Besides the home fried chips he will have to make himself if he wants them.

Tomatoes
Red Onions
Green Pepper
Yellow Pepper (mostly for color)
Anaheim Chili  (because Charlie bought one)
Serrano or fresh jalapeno chili
Cilantro  (optional)

What am I forgetting?

I usually toss the hot peppers into the blender with a tomato so the flavor
will be in the liquid, not just in chunks

Some people put a little lime or lemon juice in it. Some people throw
in some garlic. Otherwise your list sounds complete to me.

Other than salt and pepper and perhaps some lime juice, I think you're
good to go.

OK Added the lime juice.  Just happened to have some limes on the counter.
And the garlic.

And two jalapeno and 1 1/2 Serrano peppers.  Grandson says it could be a
little hotter,  so I'll add another Serrano tomorrow.  But I have to be
careful of his opinion.  He and my daughter like things so hot no one else
can eat them.

Best salsa I've made in years.  The lime is good because the mid summer
tomatoes are almost too sweet.  They need the extra sharpness.

I may even be inspired to fry some chips in the morning.

Thanks everyone.

Jo
