I have heard via the work grapevine of a cat that needs a home - turned up
unclaimed, SPCA, vet etc have no record of a lost one answering the
description, and the local residents are all either allergic, or already
have cats who aren't dealing well with the intruder.

I am making enquiries. It appears that he is male, neutered, black, young
but not a kitten, skinny but getting better due to mooching food, and of
course, really cute.

Ooh, sounds interesting. Good luck, I hope he will come home with you!

You're thinking of adopting him?  That would be very exciting!
