My  cat is black and is a bit savage like the previous cat that I had
before. I don't know why black cats are al anupprochable. You know why?

As proud slave of two black beauties- I've never found them
unapproachable. Redunzel does like to go off on her own and daydream
from time to time but then again Fugazi(RB) was exactly the same and
she was a tabby. Sarrasine is anything but unapproachable! She's in
your face when she's not asleep

I suspect it could possibly be your handling techniques and treatment of
the cats. How do you handle her and what do you feed her and how?

Black cats are not unapproachable.  Your experience is either coincidence or
lack of knowledge.  Someone on this group might be able to help if you post
a specific question.

My Holly is a gorgeous, all-black cat.  She is almost always within a few
feet of me whenever I am in the house.  She is definitely a one-person cat
and is a bit skittish around strangers.  However, she soon warms up if they
just wait for her to come to them instead of trying to head directly toward
her.  She is decides for herself when it is time to rest in my lap (that is,
she wants to choose the timing and not me), but it is *frequent.*  You can
see some pictures of her if you look at the links under my signature.

Well I'm an italian people and I live in the north of the country. I
have a big garden and some space in the garage where my cats usually
living but naturally I've never let them inside my home because they
have not a pedigree so I usually let them out in the open-air. Now I've
seen your cats they're very wonderful beasties and they live inside
with all their games to pass the time. It's very funny. My cats catch
some rats or mouses and play with them until they died. So they enjoy
and they feed themselves with the bread and rest of cheese. They never
take illnesses or infectiuos desease but my problem are the black cats.
maybe is because they live out but they are very unfriendly if I
approach to them. My only friendly cats are the green one

P.S. I hope that my english is comprehensible to other people

Not many problems with your English, but I sure would like to see a
green cat... (green = verde) Maybe it's a cat from Mars. :)

I've always found ALL "barn cats" unapproachable (except at
milking time, when they may show up hoping for a squirt of
milk if they beg nicely).  You didn't mention that yours
were semi-feral "working" cats, not "pets".

My only friendly cats are the green one

Ummmm... "green" means "verde"!  Perhaps you meant "grey"
(grigio)?

It's comprehensible enough (except for the green cat) ;-)
Welcome to the group.

Thank you for the correction. I would say grey. Anyway my cats are not
pets but semi-feral cats the most of all my beasties.
I'm sorry I can't show any images of them because I haven't a site on
the web

All the black cats I've known, including my Bagheera, have been very
friendly.

On the contrary.  I've owned 4 black cats and they have all been the
sweetest and most intelligent cats of all.

Nothing is true about all cats of any color.

However my grandkids aunt had a big ole black cat named Elvira for years.
Cat would bite for the fun of it.  Not hard enough to require trips to the
ER.  But hard enough you knew she was a cat.

Must be from the "Nox" family of black cats ;)

Yes, Nox will decide if you are worth approaching, and then SHE will do
it...or TELL you to.  Tyche, on the other hand, is a mess of 8
different colours and she hates everyone save "family" and
cops/soldiers.  Strangers need never approach at all!

Colour does not affect a cat's behaviour.  A combination of their
personality and how you treat them, does.

Each cat is different.  One of the most affectionate cats I've ever had was
black.

Our black cat Laku is very approachable, a real love bug and very calm
too, just a bit chatty at times. So apparently not *all* black cats are
savages.

I've never found them so!  I've only had one completely
black (my other "black" cats were more-or-less tuxedos), but
he was a real love-bug, who'd eagerly approach anyone,
stranger or not, in hopes of being petted.
