Oscar's paw is doing much better, and she doesn't mess with it much,
but there's still a little spot that looks injured, and so every now
and then I want to take a look at it.  This means that Oscar, who only
likes to be touched on her terms, gets picked up and held belly-up
(another no-no) while DH examines and prods her paw (third no-no).

This morning, the three of us were lounging in bed when I decided we
needed to check Oscar's paw again.  She was purring alongside me.  I
sat up against the wall, picked her up, held her belly-up on my
belly, and ... Oscar just let me do it.  She even kept up the purring
as DH gently held and pushed her paw pads, then switched to the other
paw to compare.

After we were done, I gently put Oscar back where I found her.  I knew
she'd want to run away, so I kept a gentle pressure on her back while
I kept petting her.  She settled down and decided to purr alongside me
for a while before running off to do important kitty things.

What a good girl!

Oscar is a very good girl indeed. Pet her for me please.

One time I was at a cat show, and saw a cat being carried belly-up in
the arms of a human
like a baby. After I came home, I started carrying Rusty like that. He
doesn't mind. I like carrying him that way so  we can look eye to eye
at each other.

This is very sweet.  I like carrying them like that too, when they
allow it.

She is a good girl!  You'd think that a cat would get a bit grouchy
after all she's had to go through.

She's a sweetie!  I'm glad her paw is better and she's not fussing much
about it.  I'm also glad she's not having to wear that silly cone-thing on
her head :)
