Well, you should know that it "just wasn't right" until *she* decided it

LOL that's because she's round, smiley and inquisitive! I liked that
nose-lick one, too! I wasn't expecting it; she wasn't doing that when I
snapped the shutter.

I'd even rubbed it with loose catnip! No go. Not until she deemed it
"worthy" :)

That's very much like the one I got Snoopy a few years ago, she never used
it so when Shaddow, the semi-feral, cat showed up I put it in the summer
house for him. He likes it but instead of getting in it he collapses the top
and makes a bed of it.
I love the picture of Persia licking her nose. :-)

LOL! Rhett likes to get under cat beds that are meant to lay on top
of.

Glad she's using it at last. It was even more months ago that I got the
sisal scratching post and my two have never even considered using it :-(

I have to get a scatching pad for Rusty. The old one was thrown out as
it was falling aprat. Now he is using my door mat for scratching.

If it didn't cost more to ship than what it is worth I would send it to you
for Rusty.
I can't imagine how stupid I was to buy one. My cats have real trees to
scratch on and they do. Why would they want a sisal post? Seems they
didn't. They like to scratch bark on real trees.
I am very anxious to make sure my cats have everything they need. I am
really only experienced with dogs.
The difference between having cats in America and England is mind-blowing
for a Brit. Well, I mean me.

Wasn't the desire for a scratching post originally related to KFC's
habit of scratching your chair instead, though?

Yes, she started to do that so I got her a scratching post. She has stopped
doing it but hasn't used the scratching post instead. She just stopped
scratching the furniture of her own accord.
She had never done it before and now she doesn't do it any more. Go figure.

I have a stuffed chair that was scratched to bits before I bought my
house and got a bunch of cat trees and scratching posts. I kept the
chair for them and it's downstairs, but the ones that liked
scratching it are long at the RB and none of my current cats scratch
it. I should get rid of it. Sometimes they like to sleep on it, but
it's very ugly and since no one scratches it, there are other places
to sleep. See, I tell myself that, but I can't bear to take away a
sometimes-sleeping spot.

Thanks for the thought. It is easy enough for me to get him one.
Besides, Rusty seems to
enjoy using the door mat, which has the pictures of 3 guard cats on it.
I don't know whether
he recognises them as cats and wants to scratch at them.
Maybe you can give it to other cat slaves in your neighbourhood.

Indeed! Our sisal post is so mangled, half the rope has been ripped
away from it! And there are no new ones in this area!
I am going to try to get my parents to bring us one from Otnario.

Same thing with Rusty's old scratching pad. I went to Walmart and
bought another pad
for him. It is a cheapo and the verdict is still out whether he will
use it. If not, he can
go on using the door mat.

Great pics! I have a very nice cat bed made lovingly by someone that
no one would lay in. It's very plush, and smells like catnip but no
one laid claim. They got it last December. It took until a couple of
months ago for anyone to lay in it. Once there is a familiar cat
smell in it, everyone wants to lay in it. Go figure the cat mind. ;)
