How's Vino doing?

Sorry I haven't posted an update in a while.  I've been working a lot of
extra days because I'm filling in for someone who's on vacation.  The
timing is very bad, what with Vino's issues and Dennis being home.
But I'm happy to report that Vino is recovering.  He's lost a lot of
weight and feels kind of scrawny now.  I can feel all the bones along
his spine.  But he's eating more every day and we are feeding him
whenever he wants something.  We are just giving him regular Iams right
now because he's always liked that.  But when the urine acidifier's run
out, we will have him on c/d or s/d or whatever the vet wants.
He still sleeps more than usual, but he's getting more active too.  He
layed out on the sun lounger with Dennis for hours yesterday.  When the
sunbeam left, he moved to the bed and layed in the sun there!  He also
still does his regular back yard patrols.  We noticed that letting him
out there definitely stimulates his appetite and he'll have a whole
bunch more to eat once he comes back in.  So far no sign of that other
cat, so that's good.
I think Dennis is planning to spend most of the day out there again, he
has to get rid of the weeds because we received a letter after our
rental inspection.  It's the dumbest thing.  We are stepping up plans to
build our own house and have been drawing up plans.  Anyway, having
Dennis out gardening is a good thing for Vino because he absolutely
loves having one of us out there with him.
In the evenings, Dennis has grown a lap fungus.  He proudly announced to
me last night that he has a pussy.  Ha, yeah, an orange one that doesn't
match the rest of his hair ;-)

Purring is an automatic safety valve device for dealing with happiness

So glad that Vino is getting better, but sorry about Dennis' ...erm.... "new
body part" :D

Thanks for the update.  I'm glad to hear he's slowly recovering.  It's so
stressful when they are sick.

I'll continue to send healing purrs.

Yay! Really sounds like he's starting to enjoy himself again.

So glad to read that he's continuing to improve.  Purrs for all of
you.
