I wonder if anyone has been in the house to check out the conditions.  I
think this is probably a case of a "collector" - I can't see having sanitary
conditions for 200 cats in a two-story house - that's pushing the limit for
even a nice-sized shelter.  I have trouble keeping the litterboxes un-smelly
for just my four in my two story house!

200? Sheesh! I thought my friend was crazy for having 25 in a 2-story
house... I couldn't imagine having more than about four at a time.

Several years ago I used to volunteer for the local SPCA and
fostered cats (where I got Shamrock - he was a foster failure).
Several of the volunteers would at times have at least 100 cats in
their homes.  I thought they were nuts, but after a while I could
understand why it happened.

The worst case I had any participation in was one 4th of July
weekend where I cat sat for one of the volunteers who had a 5000 sq
ft house, and at the time had about 120 cats, 60+ were kittens,
some very very small, and not old enough to be adopted out yet. At
the time there was a nasty strain of feline panleuk ("distemper")
and other nasties going around. I had to dropper feed about 20
kittens to boost appetite, "steam" all of the kittens in the
bathroom to help them breathe, clean butts, medicate with
antibiotics and interferon 2x per day, and make sure everyone ate,
and clean out a whole lot of litterboxes. This was only for 4 days.
I don't know how those who do this do it.  I quit volunteering soon
after because many died, and no one seemed to care that it was too
much work for those who took it on.  I saw too much suffering. If
there aren't enough foster homes for the sick ones, put them down
before they have to suffer the illness. I'm sure many disagree with
me about that.

They had a news story video and the reporters were inside  the cats were all
in excellent condition  she had paperwork for their vaccines, and medical
history for all of them

She  has rescued them  for all those cats in the house  not one was fighting
the house was immaculate clean.  the reporters checked everything.  She was
not classified as a collector  all her problem is that some a.shole
complained that she had too many cats  and now the county wants to get
involved.  She lives in a rural country area

Down here in our area  the shelters have gone thru some political BULLSHIT
with zoning laws.  The rescue center that I was with closed not to long ago
due to this.  Orlando's centers are closing left and right. In Volusia
county  there is only one no kill center and it is so overloaded that it is
getting fined for it.

This lady wants to make her house into a rescue center
