Can I get a purr?

Hello...

I know it's been a long time since I posted. Since I'm a catless
catslave I haven't had much to post about, but I'm still reading the
group every day and purring along with everyone else, even though I
don't have a cat to delegate the purring duties to.

Anyway, I hope it's not cheeky of me to call upon the power of purr. My
mother needs purrs; she awoke today with one eye simply not
functioning, and the initial speculation is a mini-stroke of some kind.
Please purr that it's nothing so serious, or at least, that they've
caught it early.

The one good aspect is that her timing could not be better. I'm writing
this in the departure lounge of Hong Kong airport, just about to embark
on a long-planned trip to the UK. I shall be able to see my mother very
soon, whatever happens.

Thanks, all.

Purrs for your mother, I'm glad you're able to visit her. Purrs that you
don't remain catless for much longer.

Thanks Adrian,

I'm afraid "catless" is rather my natural state right now. I live in a
tiny concrete-box-in-the-sky in Hong Kong and I travel most of the
time, so it's really hard for me to have a cat. I do my bit for the
furry masters by making a monthly donation to the Hong Kong Alleycats
Society, and I am very good friends with a rangy streetwise tuxedo
alleycat who lives near my office, and who I call Cowboy.

I'm just off to England for a short visit, and I will get my fix of
catlove from Pudding and Libby, my father's Tuxedo Twosome. Well,
Pudding will provide catlove, since she's the ultimate meatloaf; Libby
is only just out of kittenhood and working hard on her ambition to eat
a badger, so I probably won't see much of her.

Thanks for the purrs,
Al.

Many purrs for your mom.  It's lucky indeed that you were already
planning a trip home; my mother has had to make last-minute
arrangements to fly from the US to Germany far too many times for my
grandmother's health crises.

Purrs on the way, Alphonze. I'm sure it will be reassuring to your
mother to have you around.  I hope the trouble, whatever it may be,
will be easily taken care of.  Nina and Francesca are on the case,
don't worry.

Purrs for your mom.  I don't have a cat either, but I have these stored
up from when I did.  I hope with you that they'll be able to treat her
condition well.

And you're pretty much a fixture here now.  It's still funny to recall
how the other regulars were bugging us both about getting a cat a few
years ago.

Plenty of purrs for all.  Sending a large dose to your Mom that the
problem isn't serious and is easily put right.
