Tiger has to go to the vet for mat shaving on Monday. This means no
breakfast (anesthetic). I'm sure he will know that something is amiss
and may try to hide. To prepare him, I plan on not feeding at the usual
time starting tomorrow. They usually get breakfast about 5:30 AM. I'm
going to try to hold them off until 7:15 AM for Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. I know there will be lots of complaining while I eat my
breakfast!

I hope that works out. It's definitely the time of year for it, but I
didn't know that they had to put them under to shave mats. It must be
pretty painful!

My understanding isn't that it's painful, as much as they don't want the
cat to move while they're working and possibly tearing the very thin
skin that cats are blessed with. Not only that, but the sound of the
clippers can really upset some cats, with resulting fighting and danger
to the person doing the clipping.
