This afternoon the felines are off to their favourite holiday home for a few
days. The humans are off to France (Rennes) for a few days, leaving this
evening.
Our hotel is actually on the route of the Tour de France, apparently :-)

Have a great trip! Maybe one day we'll see Nathan wearing the yellow jersey.

Nice!
I've been meaning to ask, what do you and Nathan think of the recent
drug suspicion disqualifications?

Not so naive as to think doping is not around in *any* sport....
In the current scandal - whoever has been cheating: out. Period.
It's no longer enough to say "I've never tested positive" as the people
doing the catching appear to be the police, rather than the anti-doping
people.
Of 200 sports' people implicated in the current doping affair, about 1/4 are
cyclists with the rest being from 'other sports' Tennis & athletics have
been named. Strange that it's only the cyclists that have been publicly
named... one has to wonder what the governing bodies of the other sports are
doing other than pretending it isn't happening and wishing it would all go
away...
Some of the 'evidence' appears to be dodgy in the current scandal.
I've seen various forms of cheating go on at amateur level sport, so I think
it'll be common where the big money is... but it's not just in cycling -
that's not condoning cycling cheats: anyone who cheats should be banned IMO.
But I do wish as much publicity was given to the cheats in the 'other
sports' as there is to cycling.

The beasties have been at the cattery since late afternoon...
...lord the house is quiet without their comings and goings!
I miss them already! Still I'll be reunited with them on Monday.

And Nathan's just come back from doing a 10-mile time trial. New personal
best of 22 minutes 15 seconds :-)

Once we thought the earth was flat--
What of that?
It was just as globos then
Under believing men
As our later folks have found it,
By success in running round it;
What we think may guide our acts,
But it does not alter facts.

I don't think we'd be allowed to ride *with* them. Then there's the small
problem of keeping up ;-)
Nathan is taking his time trial bike over and he's hoping to ride the time
trial course the day before the main event.
