You all know about Otis' early morning antics that cost us sleep, I know.
Well, we had tough love about three nights in a row and he slept in the
basement. He was miserable. Miserable!
For the last two weeks since, he's been an absolute dream. Curls up and
sleeps and purrs on my shoulder and doesn't get up and claw the screen when
the birds start at 4:30 AM. He is such a momma's boy - he couldn't stand
being separated. He's such a love.

Aww, that's so sweet of him. Give him a scritch from me for being a good
boy!

Nice!
Oscar usually shapes up if we do this to her for a few nights. But
watch for backsliding or "testing." You know how kids are!

Sweet Otis! Could he please teach Memphis how to sleep at night? He is
really good at sleeping in the day time!

Otis is such a funny oddball. It's interesting how he shows vastly
different parts of his personality to different people at different
times. I think that you're probably the only person who can tame him.

I remember suggesting this a while ago and I'm glad you could bring yourself
to do it. It's not easy.

Sometimes timeouts really work. I've done it with Spicey when she gets
bitey (5-10min.) and usually it works.

Of course, right after I wrote that, he tried to keep us up the next night
;-) Time outs haven't worked with Otis before and I wonder if he's slowing
down just the tiniest leetle bit at 10. He doesn't try to go on nighttime
walkabouts anymore either, which is smart and I appreciate. He's just so
darned affectionate!
