Oh, don't worry, Kitty, he's not being mean to Smudge. I think he's
just feeling a bit intimidated, or something like that. He's not being
hostile, just kind of slinking around, looking a little less sure of
himself, and more prone to run away from me when I approach him. I
feel sort of bad for him, actually. Maybe he needs a little get-away
on the other side of the pond? :)

Yep, tell him to teleport over and stay a week, no problem. It's very hot
weather here atm.
My back garden is very shaded by trees so he and Kitty can bask in dappled
sunlight all day. I saw a small rat tonight whilst locking up the chickens
and Boyfie sez Licky's help wud be appreshiated in catching it since KFC has
retired after teeching him all she noes.

Woo hoo, can't wait!! Coming over tonight (Sunday here - guess it'll be
Monday for you), OK?

Licky will be very helpful and useful in this department, as long as he's
not too distracted by his lovely girlkitty!

I've often wondered if there's anything that we can do to predict and
improve cat dynamics. When I had Betty, I worried whether getting her
a kitty companion could backfire by making her timid. The shelter
where I got Betty had described her as being shy and fairly
independent, but bringing her home made her practically the opposite!
I saw the flowering of her beautiful and complicated character, and
would have done anything to continue nurturing that.
