Caught Lizzie peeing in a couple of places where she's not supposed to (as
in NOT in the litter box) this past week.  First time was Sunday night.  DH
thought she wasn't feeling well, so decided she would get to sleep with us,
so we had her locked in the bedroom with us.  We were both reading, when DH
looked over and caught her peeing on a pile of dirty laundry.  We figured
that it was just because she was locked in with us.

Yesterday evening, she blatantly peed in the bathroom sink, right in front
of him!

TED thinks it's probably behavioral, but just to be safe, we're taking her
in to be checked. They're going to keep her for a couple of hours to see if
they can get some pee out of her, and check it for infection, crystals, or
signs of stones (kidney or bladder).

Purrs that this is just a behavior issue, easily fixed by the addition of a
couple more litterboxes (we don't have enough for the number of cats we
have).

Purrs that Lizzie is well and just needs some behavior (enviroment)
modification.

Purrs for Lizzie. That sure sounds like crystals to me. It is so rare that
it is really just behavioral (well, not JUST but I mean, really, it's not
often it is behavioural) and it's so durned hard sometimes to suss crystals
out because they can resolve themselves temporarily about the time you
decide to take them in.

This seems to be the problem of the moment.  How old is Lizzie?

I'll mention again about my cat Sweep who started to pee in a couple of
unusual places which we later found was due to Hyperthyroidism.

Hope it's soon sorted.

No purrs around here at the moment so just good vibes and wishes.

Lizzie purrs on the way, with hope that she's just feeling a little on the moody
side.

When I went to Las Vegas some years back, leaving Fritzie in the care of a
friend, he let me know in no uncertain terms how pissed off he was: when I came
back first thing I did was kick off my shoes and go to my own "litter box," and
Fritzie marched right up and peed in my shoe!

Blessed be,
Baha

Purrs that it's just behavioral and can be easily amended.

Lots of purrs and best wishes that it is only a behavior issue and can
be fixed easily,

First off, Lizzie appreciated all the purrs - they made her feel better (if
not actually get better).

Second, they kept her all day (she didn't like that one bit!), in order to
get a 'natural' pee sample.  She has white blood cells in her urine, which
indicates an infection.  They have sent a sample out for more complete
analysis.  So now she gets the "pink stuff" 2x daily.  Why do they always
ask me if I want pills or liquid when it comes to giving cats antibiotics?
Liquid is sooooo much easier (except when it comes to Tennessee - he can
actually spit out the liquid!).

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and purrs!
