In the Seventeenth Century a large tribe of Central Asian nomads, their
name temporarily forgotton by me, left the area on the Russian steppes
that they had been inhabiting for a few centuries and went down into
western China, what we call Sinkiang, to aid their kin in a huge war.
Eventually, they settled next to their kin and became sedentary. Many
people thought that was the last great folk-wandering.UNTIL:

Late June 2006, Maggy May, Winnie, Sunrise, Missy, Woo-Too, their
servants Bill and Micki, along with Bear, their d*g made the long and
perilous trek from West Haven to the wilds of Branford (both in CT) and
settled in with all their herds and household goods, and toys of
course.

The trek is completed and the household is almost back to normal. No
one is hiding anymore, except Missy and she always hides. The new place
has much that is familiar and that is comforting but the exciting new
topography is a hit with everyone. Except Missy, of course, who is
pleased by nothing. Sunrise is still a bitch.

Oh my. And I complain about transporting just *two* cats to the island
each summer.

Cute!  Congrats on a sucessful migration.
Vino, and his slaves Britta and Dennis, recently completed their own
migration.  In March of 2001, we moved from Vancouver, BC all the way to
Thailand.  Then, in April of 2006, after a short stint in Malaysia, we
re-located to Australia... Margaret River, south of Purrth.
After a month in jail (quarantine) Vino came home to find all his
familiar posessions all set up in his new abode.  He immediately claimed
the foot of the bed as his favourite sleeping spot and has been
rightfully ruling the roost ever since :-)
