Little furry fake mice

My husband went to the store for lightbulbs and came back with a packet of 3
furry little mice.  Of course I had to immediately open it; yeah, like our
kids need more toys?

Anyway, wow, what a success!

Although I have 3 cats, which means 1 mouse per cat, each cat wants custody
of two of the mice at the same time.

There's a little hissing and growling going on here.  I find it highly
amusing.  :~)

That's so funny!  Persia seems to like possession of two fuzzy mice at a
time.  Odd thing is, she's afraid of *real* mice.

Buy them by the dozen if you can.  Cats are just crazy about them.
It's Stinky's favorite toy, paws down, except for the real thing.

Lily loves her little furry fake mice. I must have bought her over 10
packages already and every single one is lost.

When I buy these mice I remove the eyes and tail.  The eyes are usually
pins that could be swallowed and the tail could be eaten like a piece of
string.

Don't know where you get your "mice" but the ones I get don't have eyes and
have short well attached tails.

Those I buy have embroidered eyes (not removeable) and
feathers and strips of leather for tails.  (Purely
"organic", nothing that would hurt a cat if swallowed - but
although I've found detached tails from time to time, SFAIK
mine have NEVER swallowed them!)

I keep buying them, the cats seem to love them, but they
keep disappearing!  Cats have such talent for hiding things,
even in a small apartment.  (And, if it's something that
could embarrass you, bringing it out again at the least
acceptable moment!)  However, I wish they WOULD resurrect
the bottle of rather expensive prescription eye-drops they
made off with a while back.  Either they knocked it off the
bathroom counter into the trash can without my noticing it,
or they've hidden it somewhere, but I didn't really
appreciate having to negotiate a refill (and pay for it)
just because the little bottle proved an ideal size for a
cat-toy!

I know what you mean.  I lost a gold hoop earring in my sleep and I haven't
seen it since.  I'm sure it's been batted under some piece of furniture,
because it's not in the bedroom!

It might be wise to invest in a gross or so of those mice.  Most cats seem
to love them, and they tend to disappear at an alarming rate - until you
move the refrigerator or the couch.  ;-)

I just went to the Hartz web site and ordered 8 packages. They are on sale
NOW at 2 packages for $5 plus ship/postage. These should last Lily a little
while. I just gave her one new one tonight and I can't find it already.

Isn't that the truth?  This is our 4th pack in 1 1/2 years.  We move the
couch to vacuum and viola!  Cat toys!

Tank's favorite trick is to immediately play soccer with them and under the
refrigerator they go - SCORE!.  They last about 20 seconds with him.  Then he
cries so pitifully that we dig them out for him (a long thin stick works well)
and he does the same thing.  I have to ration him (and ignore the pitiful
cries) or I'd be pulling mice out from under the refrigerator all day.

I found the last of ours disemboweled beside the bed this morning. Cleo has
a nasty habit of destroying all the old cat toys. Losing a tooth hasn't
hampered her destructive capabilities in the least.

As for losing toys, we once had a twelve pack of those little neoprene golf
balls. These were Cali's favourite toy once upon a time. Now were down to a
couple, which is no great loss, as they've gone a little crunchy.

I don't know how many of those mousies we've bought, because they mysteriously
disappear. Brandy, our most intrepid hunter, is either eating them or hoarding
them. I can well believe the eating; she does look rather like a rug now. I
wouldn't be surprised though to go into some deep corner of a crawl space and
find a mountain of mousies in a pile, like a squirrel stores his nuts. It gives
me the pleassure of buying more for my spoiled kids.

Incidentally, what they like even better than fuzzy mice are wiffle golf balls.
You get them in a sporting goods place for maybe three bucks for twenty four of
them, and the cats go ballistic. They carry them around, and wake us up playing
handball in the middle of the night. These also have a golf-ball Bermuda
Triangle somewhere.

Blessed be,
Baha
