We were so close to getting a fourth kitty this past week. We have a
no-kill shelter called the Ten Lives Club, who receives our United Way
donations through work and our tithes; they're the place who gave us our
Roxie. We were going to take a cat named Sadie--a male, so how he got
such a name must be the makings of a Johnny Cash song--but lost out to a
senior home. Oh well. I did tell Ten Lives that whenever we would put in
for adoption, senior citizens should get dibs on the cat of choice.
After all, it's healthy to own a pet, mentally and physically, and cats
do a world of good for our elderly.
Now we've been told to check the shelter and its sponsor, a local pet
store who shows the cats for adoption. We've been told that they have a
cat named Lucky, who is very Zen-like and would make a nice companion
for our quieter Roxie, who as far as we can tell has embraced Tibetan
Buddhism and doesn't go for the rough-and-tumble style of Stosh and
Brandy. I'm going to check it out later; the pet place is right around
the corner from my house, I'm on vacation (today is my and Louie's
second anniversary, but the bozos at his job made him work when they
knew he was supposed to have off todays, the SOB's) and I need to get my
fat caboose out of the house and exercise anyway. I hope this'll work
out. We've been hoping to expand our family.
Blessed be,
Baha

Now, is it sensible to have yet another cat? No, of course it isn't.
So....
Get whatever might not get a home otherwise ;-)
One eye or three legs or something like that, or a longhair. Longs sometime
don't get chosen because of the coat care they need, or come into shelter
matted up to h*ll.
Tweed
two is enough for me!

First of all - happy anniversary! Yeah!!!
I'll be hanging off my keyboard waiting to hear about Lucky. I'm such a
sucker for adoption stories.
Wow - just think of the combined energy of the two meditating cats :D
