My son's little kitten (the one I'd posting pictures of using his litter box
when I kitten-sat) was found dead next to his food bowl - they don't know
what killed him.  Their 5-year-old, Taffy, is fine so they don't think it
was poison, and there were no marks on the kitten.  They couldn't afford a
necropsy (and, to spare my feelings, they didn't tell me until a few days
after it happened when I specifically asked about him, so I couldn't help
out), so they'll never know what happened for sure.

Hugs,

It is so sad. I was thinking....was the food hard kibble? Can a kitten choke
to death? Grant got a piece of kibble stuck somewhere in the back of his
mouth a couple of weeks ago from hoovering it down too fast. I was panicked
he was choking, but I think it was just caught like at the back of the
tongue and cheek.

I honestly don't know.  I suppose it's possible - yes his food was dry
kibble.

Oh, that's so sad! Poor kitten, and poor Taffy, too! It's heartbreaking
to lose a pet, especially a kitten, at any time, but I think it's
particularly sad for a child.

LOL, in the midst of this sad story, this is amusing to me. I was too
polite to say anything before, but now that I've been set straight, I'm
relieved to find out that Taffy is a cat, not a 5-year-old *child*. :)

And a good many for you, too; I can just see in your words that you loved the

moment is a kitten's playtime.
