One of the many traditions/routines I have with the cats features Basho,
my morning paper and a window-sill cat bed/hammock. Every morning while
I read the paper, Basho likes to come by, get a quick scritch and then
jump on his favorite bed, looking out at the birds on a feeder we have
just for them (the cats). He loves to stretch and demand pettings, which
I of course, provide at his command. :)
Today he didn't go up into the bed as usual, he kept sitting on my paper
and being all lovey. I thought it was odd, so I just grabbed him and
plopped him in his bed. He stayed, belly-up, motionless for a few
seconds, then slowly started to get up to jump down. I then noticed he
was all dirty and wet on his back. I looked up and there was a large
barf in the bed! Right where I put Basho down!
I grabbed him and took him to the kitchen sink to clean him with some
paper towels. He has a little bit of dry barf that I missed between his
shoulder blades, but he's not angry at me. He's sitting right next to me
as I type this. Probably because it was him who barfed, it was a typical
"I ate too much to fast and now I'm throwing it all back up" barf, which
is what Basho does every so often.
