Thanks for the purrs and other good vibrations.
I just got of the phone with Jim on Genesis in Savannah, Georgia.
The storm passed with about 5 inches of rain (over 2 days) and a lot of wind
(about 30 mph) and a 9.5-foot tide. This is only about a foot higher than
usual, so not bad.
Genesis is fine, having shrugged off this storm as a weak imitation of what
we've previous experienced in Texas.
A boat came in on Monday about the time Jim returned from Atlanta. Later
that evening, the man tripped and fell off the boat onto the cement dock and
broke his wrist.
Jim took him to a medical urgent care place because Jim was the only one at
the dock with a car, having rented one for the drive to Atlanta. The man
is scheduled to have surgery today. I bet he could use some healing purrs.
Cinder and Rosie are out of incarceration. Jim picked them up late
yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. Cinder was still a little woozy from the
dental cleaning. They scraped the stuff off her teeth, but she did not have
any bad teeth or need any extractions.
She has a prescription for a liquid antibiotic that she needs to have
every day for a week. I'll bet it's that pink stuff. Jim said he gave her
a dose this morning and she protested, but then decided it was O.K. I'm
glad he's the one who will be dosing her. She's got a mind of her own.
The clinic people said they loved both our kitties. They said Rosie was one
of the best cats they'd ever had there, and she even got a note the
equivalent of a gold star written on her chart about wonderful she is.
Jim said they were quiet during the car ride back to the marina. When he
got them out of the car, the wind was blowing and it was raining, so they
made some editorial comments as he walked them down to the boat.
Once he got them onboard and out of the crates, they were fine and seemed
relieved to be back.
But all the excitement is not over. Some of Jim's Army helicopter buddies
are coming in to visit. I expect that Cinder will demand to be admired and
Rosie will endure.

Yeah! I'm glad all is well. It had to be worrisome for a meowmie so far
away.

So glad to hear the Genesis weathered the storm ok, Annie! What a
relief!
Sorry about the man who broke his wrist, but it's a good thing Jim was
able to help out. Purrs for his wrist surgery.
That's great about Cinder's dental. I hope all goes well for Vino too
when I finally decide to take him in (probably when Dennis is next
home).
And what a good girl Rosie is, you must be so proud :-)
I hope you're having a good visit in Oregon.

Purrs for the stranger's hurt wrist (and kudos to Jim for being a good
Samaritan).
I've very relieved to hear you guys (and your boat) rode out the storm well.

I really enjoy reading about the boat trip, Annie. Hope everything goes well
with your family visit and that Jim and the furbabies can tolerate being
without you for a while. God bless, and have a happy rest of the trip.

Purrs for the guy with the wrist operation and we're all glad that the
owners and the Genesis (and Jim of course) came through the storm fine.
As I write this, we are getting the tag end of the storm. It has been
gusty with wind speeds between 17 and 34 MPH, I have no idea how much
rain we got, but it was wet enough that we had to almost literally shove
Speedy out the door to do his business this morning. For the first storm
of the season, it isn't bad, but then I don't really want to experience
a bad one. I'm spoiled.
Pam S. glad everyone is ok.

Glad to hear the cats are out of jail and that all went well. You must
be so proud of Rosie! :o) Purrs for your boat neighbour's wrist.
