It's raining torrentially today and Vino has lost all interest in going
out even though there is a wide covered veranda all along one side of
the house.
First thing in the morning, he wanted out. I let him out and that
lasted all of 5 min and he wanted back in. After a while, he wanted out
again. I opened the door and he looked out at the rain, then looked up
at me in dismay. He went out for about 30 seconds, then wanted back in.
Since then, he's been driving me bonkers inside. He's pawing at papers
on my desk, trying to bat my cellphone off, walking across the keyboard,
anything and everything to get attention. I've played catnip mousie
with him, had a bit of a wrasslin' session and have cuddled and petted
him. But he's still got more energy to burn off. I guess he's used to
racing around the yard at full speed now.
So I decided enough's enough and he's going back out whether he likes it
or not. I opened the door and gently pushed on his behind. He kind of
folded in half as only a cat can do and instead of heading out the door,
he headed right back in! Ok. I give up, he's staying in. Until he
decides he wants out, of course ;-)

If mine doesn't like the weather at the back door, he asks out at the front
door hoping the weather will be better there.

LOL! I know that old "fold in half at the door when she tries to push
you out" trick.
My cats never liked to go out when it was wet, either. Even after it
stopped raining. And they acted up about it too.

My cats usually do that when I put them in the carrier to go to TED!

Sounds to me like what Mr. V needs is a little 4-legged furry friend ;)

Unfortunately Vino hates and despises all other cats. I do want more
cats though. I think I may wait until we have built our house and then
introduce 2 littermate kittens. Hoping the new territory for all, along
with the kittens keeping each other busy, will work out. But it's
definitely too soon after the big move to even begin thinking about more
cats at this stage.

I think Vino's definitely already been through some Big Changes lately.
And now you've brought him to this cold place where the nasty wet
stuff falls out of the sky, and THIS, after he'd done time on the
inside! (Quarantine Slams). Poor guy, he needs some time to adjust
before any competition gets introduced. =o)

Oh yes, let us not forget the alarmingly spherical indigenous
Australian wildlife! =o)

Well, they did all that evolution in isolation, after all. :)
