Thank you all for your purrs and prayers for my friend Marna and her
Charlie.  Sadly, he developed liver failure, and they sent him gently
to the Bridge on Wednesday.  She is heartbroken.  Purrs for her heart
to heal gratefully received.

Farewell, Charlie, and comforting purrs for your grieving human.

I'm really sorry to hear this! Charlie lived a long and, from the sound
of things, a good life. But Marna has to go on without him, so I'd like
to direct my kitty's purrs to her, mostly.

I know she is old and probably it wouldn't make sense for her to adopt
another kitty. But maybe she would consider fostering when she feels a
bit better? It's a short-term commitment, and then she'd be able to enjoy
a bit of kitty-love again.

A friend of mine had to have her beloved dog put down last year. At first
she couldn't bear the thought of another dog in her home, but after a
while, she started fostering dogs. She says she's still not ready to
commit to adopting another dog because she's still grieving, but the
fostering is helping her heal.

Oh dear, it's so hard to let them go.  Purrs and birdie chirps for your
friends' loss.
