So she isn't a cat

But I'm so doggone proud of Kayla anyway.

She was spayed two weeks ago and we went in yesterday to get her stitches
out.  She is thirty pounds of solid muscle and energy.  But she allowed the
vet tech to lift her onto the table and roll her over.  The tech held her
back paws and I held the front ones.  And talked to her and told her how
sweet she was,  etc.  All the stitches came out without so much as a twitch
or whimper.

On another front, she is terrified of Mickey Mouse.  Last Thursday, oldest
grandson graduated from high school.  He brought home a congrat. helium
Mickey Mouse balloon from a friend.  Kayla saw it and went absolutely ape.
Barking, howling, cowering.  All the things she never, ever does.  We
finally had to lock it away in the boys room.

Now however, it seem she has suddenly become aware of things that are above
her.  She doesn't like the light fixture in the entry way.  Not crazy about
the ceiling fans that have been there all her life.  Tips of trees swaying
in the wind startle her.  This too shall pass.  Or at least the barking that
has started with it.

She spent two weeks last month in summer camp.  Turns out she can work sheep
but doesn't much care for it.  Wants to play all the time.  And has learned
boundaries but also tries to set her own.  That's my dog and sounds an awful
lot like my kids.

I'll get pictures of the whole gang up as soon as I figure out how to work
the new camera.

Congrats! Very much looking forward to the pics. She must be so much fun
wanting to play all the time.
Best wishes,
