Dennis and I left at noon on Monday to go to Perth. Dennis' flight left
at 7 am on Tuesday morning, so driving in that morning was not an option
as it's a 3 hour drive. I got home this afternoon at 4, so was away for
a total of 28 hours.
Vino was excited to see me and full of piss and vinegar. After some
perfunctory cuddles and purrs, he wanted outside and spent 2 hours
racing up and down the back yard.
Then I had to go to my wine class at 6 and got home at 8:30. It was
already dark out of course, but I let him out again because he hadn't
had much time out while I was away.
At 9:15 it started to rain quite heavily and Vino appeared at the door,
frantically pawing at the glass, wanting in NOW! I let him in and he
gobbled down some crunchies, then he wanted out again. I told him no,
it is too late now and also it's raining.
Well, that did not go over well. He spent the next 10 minutes lying on
the floor, trying to insert his paw between the 2 french doors, trying
to get them to open. I kept telling him no more out for the day, but he
kept trying. He also spent some time swearing at me in a most
distasteful way. If he was a kid, he'd get his mouth washed out with
soap ;-)
It is now 9:50 and he's given up. He is sitting across the room from
me, glaring. If looks could kill...

I get that every night when I close the cat flap. First HRFL starts
howling. Then Lily joins in, and then Robbie slaps everyone about and
gets the hump.
They definitely do sulk, although in this house the sulking lasts as
long as it takes me to open a can of tuna. ;o)

I read somewhere that the emotional cortex of a cat's brain
is identical to that of a human's, so we're not just being
"anthropomorphic" when we assign human feelings to our
feline companions.

Did once read in the New York Times that cats are almost as individual
in personality as humans.

'Tis true. In fact we share this with all mammals. What idjit came
up with the idea that other animals don't have emotions??

LOL! Sounds familiar. Miranda always wants to be out in the enclosure.

LOL, yes, cats do a great sulk. Smudge is the sulking queen in my house.
And it's usually related to a frustrated desire to go outside, at, say,
3 in the morning.
Here's a great Smudge sulk picture:

LOL! That pic is hilarious! Vino's sulk wasn't that kind of "poor me"
sulk though. His was more of a "how dare you deny me, I will get you
back for this" kind of sulk ;-)

I wish I had a picture of this! I can't even imagine Vino with an
angry expression.
Meanwhile, watch your back. :)

Wow! That's a sulk worthy of any 4-year-old boy! LOL
Great picture.

Hehe. This year Oscar has developed a real desire for the Out. I
think she's trying to figure out how to work the doorknob (which
fortunately is round, so I think it's less likely she'll be able to
get it open).
