One weekend afternoon, I was lying on the downstairs daybed (Cat
Mecca) with Stinky besides me, watching "The Parent Trap" on cable.
The old one, with Hayley Mills.

You know the story-- the twins trying to get their divorced parents
back together, tormenting their prospective stepmother in the process.

So there's this camping scene where the villainous lady has fallen
asleep in her tent, and the two imps have put honey on her bare feet,
attracting a couple of bears who are happily licking it off-- she
awakes, and hilarity ensues.  And just as it was ensuing, I shrieked
out loud because of a sudden stabbing pain in *my* bare foot, sticking
out a bit beyond the end of the bed.  Just at that moment, a
well-concealed Dante had shot straight up like a missile and attacked
my dangling foot.

A good thing, I guess, that I'm *not* keeping bears around here. :P

LOL!

When I was a teenager, my friend Alice came over to watch Monty Python's
Holy Grail on TV. During the scene with the Vorpal Bunny, my (normally very
placid) cat Dino shot across the room, sank his teeth into her arm and then
ran away.

He was nicknamed "the Vorpal Kitty" after that...

"We'd better not risk another frontal assault-- that rabbit's

LOL!
(Although it's lucky for the twins that no-longer-prospective step
mommy still had FEET after her encounter with the bears!)

Hey, I bear scars from some very OLD cat scratches on my arms and
around the ankles.  Never forget, for all their cuteness and their
purring, our Owners are still little  predators, and those claws and
teeth can hurt. =o) Not that you'd know it from the way Nina runs and
hides from Big Suck the evil vacuum cleaner.

Or how they all come and hide at your feet when the big bad thunder booms
over head
