Well, that's what the three felines of Chateau Unfit Family think they are.
This morning was the annual trip to TED for booster vaccinations and general
check-up time.

All three went into the cat carriers, two were well-behaved (Waffles &
Francis) whereas Marble howled pitifully the entire journey there and back
plus in the waiting room. He told anyone who would listen and plenty more
who really didn't want to listen about how is abused, tortured and starved.
He lies, as he is distinctly not slim. TED said he is not overweight though.

Waffles was her usual dignified, regal self, as one expects from Queen Of
All She Surveys.

Francis...

On the plus side, Francis is in rude health. TED is exceptionally pleased
with him. Glossy coat, bright eyes, good weight (Francis, not TED). On the
downside, that d*mned fool vet that wanted to euthanise Francis has left his
psychological stamp in Francis's memory. As soon as today's vet tried to
examine Francis, poor Francis turned into a hissing, spitting and biting
demon. Francis was *never* like that until that previous d*mn fool was rough
with him and wanted to euthanise him. As a result, I now know that Francis
will be aggressive with vets (and who can blame him), is terrified of them
and is scarred by the experience. So today I ended up being the one holding
Francis whilst the vet examined him and gave him the necessary inoculation.
I don't mind holding Francis and he was fine with me doing so. So it's clear
it's the previous vet who did the damage IMO. The vet today was a nice lad -
and gentle with all three of the felines, whilst giving them a thorough
examination.

Now... where's the generic wax effigy that I can stick pins into whilst
chanting strange chants and cursing the other vet who has so traumatised
Francis in the past. Wherever he is in the world, I do not wish him well :-(

Cheers, helen s

Poor Francis! No vets should be able to do that to an animal. Glad that the
gang have a clean bill of health.

It's good to hear that they are all doing well.

I don't think Mandy ever forgave the entire vetinary profession after one
of them (with help) held her down and stole her blood during her very
first visit. And it was actually my fault (although I would never let her
know) because I was anxious that she have a thorough check-up, and that
included a blood test for some nasty feline disease....she's been an
absolute horror at the vet ever since, even our much-lamented cats-only
vet, who was the most thorough, patient and gentlest I have met.

Unfortunately, she was forced into early retirement due to her own health
issues, and I haven't been really satisfied since. I next tried the
original clinic I used, which is much larger, treats a wider range of
animals (including d*gs, whose presence Mandy takes exception to), and has
a number of vets, some of whom don't seem to stay long. I wasn't impressed
with the brevity of their last check-up, or the price of the geriatric
panel of blood tests, or, in fact, by the tendency to recommend expensive
stuff. A friend has suggested another small clinic, but they're not
opened Saturdays, and only open one evening a week which, during the
winter, is my busiest evening for after-work activities.

Naturally. No one would even dare suggest that Waffles would do anything
unladylike.

With all the hate from this group directed at him, he's probably feeling
not so good. So glad that Francis is doing so well.

I'm always so very happy to hear the good news about Francis! But it is
understandable he doesn't trust vets after an experience like the one he
had.
Lots and lots of purrs and best wishes for Francis, Waffles and Marble,
Polonca and Soncek
