On the way into the supermarket yesterday I stopped at the pet store at the
entrance to admire the kittens. There were two gorgeous babies, one ginger
and one that was charcoal with white tips on her fur. They were cuddled up
together asleep looking very content and after a couple of minutes one of
them started grooming the other one. Aww.
On my way back out of the shopping centre only twenty minutes later the
ginger one was gone... and the charcoal one was crying. She was jumping up
at the door of the cage. I wished I could bring her home! I'm going to have
a look today and see if is still there. Purrs that she will have her own
loving family soon. I wish those two could have stayed together.
On the other end of the spectrum, Sesame my lovely purry geriatric who turns
21 sometime around May/June/July spotted a young ginger cat outside
yesterday. Now in her younger days Sesame ruled her territory... she would
only have to stare at intruders and they would run a mile. Now I doubt she
would have any ability to defend herself which is why I try to keep her
inside as much as possible. But when she saw ginger.... she wanted out NOW
(I went out with her) and followed him around the back with a very
displeased air. He disappeared very quickly.
I couldn't stop laughing. She still wants to show all those other cats who
is boss! Currently she is asleep under the bed where she has been for a good
twelve hours, with a couple of meal and toilet breaks in between.
