I rushed out the door at 4:20 for the Post Office (which closes at 4:30),
and on the way over I see a Yard Sale sign. So when I got done at the P.O. I
went up there, not really expecting to find anything good (too late in the
day), but hopeful...
Now I almost feel guilty about how much stuff I got for so little money,
practically a whole wardrobe of *very* nice clothes, no junk here, this lot
would have cost me at least $500 new:
-Two sweaters
-Seven dresses
-Six blouses
-One fleece jacket
-One sweatshirt
-One slacks
-One nightshirt
Plus some plates and cutlery.
Total paid = $19. So what if I can't wear the sweaters and jacket until the
weather cools!!???

Must be a Memorial Day thing. The neighbors across the street had so many
cars parked outside at their yard sale they were blocking traffic. I
couldn't see to pull out of the street. Hope everyone got as many good
deals as you did! And yes, the weather will change so you'll get to wear
the sweaters eventually.

There is a neighbourhood in town that is known for its annual garage sale.
It is
a vert nice neighbourhood near downtown with stately old houses.
So on Sat. I went to have a look after lunch.
The place was packed. On a business street, many stores have side walk sale.
I didn't buy anything but it was nice to look around. The weather was nice
for a change.

No need to feel guilty. They priced it to move, and it did. I'm sure
the people having the sale are glad to free up some space in their
house.

I love garage sales some many people don't know what items are worth. I
once paid $10 for a box of comics books that turned out to be worth quit a
bit more. I told the lady they were worth more her response was if they
were worth something her son should have not left them behind. DW went to
he habitat for humanity here in Florida and came home with clothes worth
hundred of dollars for pennies on the dollar.

Ha. They are mostly indifferent to clothing except when they can sleep on
it.

Congratulations! Pickings may be slim toward the end of a sale, but if
there's something you want, you can often get it for an especially good
price. Many sellers lower the price toward the end of the day, just to get
rid of things.

You shouldn't feel guilty - they had the sale to get rid of stuff, right?
You helped.
Boy, did you ever help. ;-)
Congrats on your score.
