I had a cat that was greedy for anything I happened to be eating. Once while eating some raw cucumber I saw the cat licking its chops and broke off a piece of cucumber for it. It took a sniff and gave me the most obvious "You've got to be kidding!" expression before it trotted off.

When she first acquired me the vet prescribed some pills for her and told me to tuck them in tuna packed in water. She turned her nose up in disdain. He couldn't believe it. I believed it. I despise tuna myself so I was stuck having paid for a can of tuna she wouldn't touch!

I expected to get that look when Miranda was showing interest in some raw carrot sticks that I was eating, and I gave her one to sniff. But no, she licked at it a long time. Couldn't figure out how to eat it, though. ;o)

Pearl always wants to smell everything, but some spices make her gag. She will come sniff my food, gag, and then come back to sniff more! Silly creature.

I had once made myself a nice potato-mushroom soup with lots of dill, and he sat there beside the bowl while I was eating it, inhaling the vapors. He put his face closer and closer to the bowl, and started to sway a little bit. He got his whiskers wet! I made him get down because I didn't want him falling into the hot soup. ;)

And there are fancy version on the internet with meringue topping etc.
Anyway, we just layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and vanilla pudding. Chill and top with whipped cream.

It certainly can, but banana flavored pudding hasn't been around all that long. I'm thinking a bit of coconut flavor along with some toasted coconut for the top would be good too.
Some of the recipes even had home made pudding. A little too complicated for me.

I saved it in my recipe collection as 'Stinky's Intoxicating Potato-Mushroom Soup.' If I get around to making it, I hope Caliban doesn't fall into it.

I'd give Spicey a taste and she'd try to bury it and stalk off. Suz&Spicey
Marina - 30 May 2006 17:34 GMT > Pearl wants to drink some of my peppermint tea! Is peppermint tea ok for > cats? I believe peppermint belongs to the same family as catmint, so that's probably the attraction. Don't know if it's safe.

EvelynVogtGamble(Divamanque) - 30 May 2006 19:48 GMT > Pearl wants to drink some of my peppermint tea! Is peppermint tea ok for > cats? Well, catnip belongs to the mint family! (So I'd say "yes", if she really wants it.)
Shiral - 30 May 2006 21:44 GMT I'd say unless you put sulphuric acid in it, Pearl shouldn't be too badly affected by one little taste.

mlabofski@yahoo.co.uk - 31 May 2006 14:25 GMT I thought cats weren't supposed to like mint. Otis once used a Polo as a football but spat it out and dribbled in disgust when he picked it up in his mouth and he always screws his face up if I eat a mint.

When he was a kitten, he used to sit on the sink while I brushed my teeth, and gargled, and used to follow me to bed afterwards. Then he would try to pry my mouth open with his paws to get at the minty scent. He doesn't pry my mouth open anymore, but he loves to meatloaf on me, right in my face, after I've done my teeth. ;)

glsummer@neptunelink.com - 31 May 2006 18:20 GMT >Pearl wants to drink some of my peppermint tea! Is peppermint tea ok for cats? I used to have a cat, Geesha, who didn't care much for catnip, but loved spearmint instead! It never hurt her. Catnip is in the same family and peppermint and spearmint, and the mint family is pretty benign in general.
