badwilson - 28 May 2006 13:56 GMT We were away for the weekend, up in Purrth. Got home early this afternoon and there were 666 new messages since Friday morning, when we left. Is this a bad omen? Should I even try to catch up??? Vino, BTW, did very well with being left for the first time since we moved over here. It was only 2 nights anyway. Still, we were happy to see he didn't puke anywhere. Since getting out of quarantine, he's had some food issues. I think he thinks his food won't stay around forever, so he scarfs it all up, gets way too full and then barfs. It is getting better now that he's beginning to realize that his bowl with crunchies is always out. Also, he's awake for many more hours per day now than he was in Thailand. He's got so much more energy and races around in the yard. That's gotta increase the appetite! He sure was full of energy when we got home. After many hours of racing, play fighting, exploring, purring, etc, he's finally sacked out on his new cat castle :-)

He sounds like he's got a bit of an "opportunistic eating" complex. Biskit is prone to that too, but she too finally figured out the food isn't going anywhere. 666 messages? I'd wait for one more. But then, I grew up in the Bible belt, LOL.

Speaking of which, there are billboards all over the place saying, "6 + 6 + 06 - You have been warned". They're black with white text, and that's all it says. Earlier, these same billboards said something else, like "6 + 6 + 06 - they'll be here soon." or something like that (my memory is terrible - this was just a couple of weeks ago).
Anyway, I figure this is advance advertising for some movie that's coming out on June 6, but I don't know which one.

It's 999."

Except that theta represented nine. Digamma represented six. And the Greeks didn't use postional notation. Six hundred and sixty-six would be written out chi-ksi-digamma. Chi=600, ksi=60, digamma=6.
At least that is what textbooks say.
Yowie - 31 May 2006 12:37 GMT >> For the geeks among us: >> [quoted text clipped - 9 lines] > also be translated as 666. So there are more possibilities than are heard > of in your nightmares. Nitpicking... Heinlein was wrong. The Biblical reference is not theta theta theta, but the Greek way of writing six hundred and sixty six.

Warned about what? My brother's birthday? How thoughtful of them to notice. He'll be 48 this year. In fact, both of my older brothers will be 48 for a month. lol

My father and my Uncle Russ were less than a year apart in age and every year on his birthday Russ would call up my father to tell him "I'm catching up to you."

MLB Maybe it's just me, but I don't see *how* it can happen yearly on a calendar...since there are no months that have 66 days in the, let alone the 6th month, and there are only 325 days in the year.........................?
This year I know for a fact that it *Will* happen - nine days from now! (June 6, 06, or 6 June 06, depending on where you are, but it writes the same way.)

Plus I know how much he loves have you and Dennis both home.

Or maybe it's because he gets to go outside? Probably because he gets to go out. It excites him to no end! And the house is so much bigger with much to explore too. And it's cooler too. I know I have way more energy, so I'm sure Vino does too. But I also know he does get cold, he's been sleeping on the BBQ outside, which gets nice and toasty when the sun shines on it :-)

Jo Firey - 28 May 2006 22:55 GMT > We were away for the weekend, up in Purrth. Got home early this afternoon > and there were 666 new messages since Friday morning, when we left. Well I started work on my first full time job on 06-06-66. My nephew will be graduating on 06-06-06. I figure those are good things.
But I seem to remember that after Regan retired, the had the street number on the house they were moving into changed from 666 to something less ominous.
For any that don't follow, in the book of Revelation in the bible talking about the end of the world there is a beast mentioned and the "mark of the beast" is the number 666. This is part of text with a lot of symbolism that can really get some people going.
