I didn't say Rainbow Bridge because he gets to join my father who died
two and a half months ago.  So his person is already waiting for him.
It seems he just died of sadness.  He had a strong streak of siamese in
him and when my father, his one strong bond died and left him, he did
nothing but mourn.  The family who took him did everything they could to
get him out of it, but I think the only think that might have shook him
would have been another old man in the nursing home.  And the nursing
home was having nothing of that.  I am so sad.  He was only 9 years old,
maybe 10.  Certainly not old.  But he couldn't bear life without my dad.
He was everything to my father.  He made the nursing home bearable to
my father and gave my father an extra couple of years I wouldn't have
had him otherwise.  But to do that, the bond had to be so strong that it
couldn't be broken.  My father loved Charlie beyond all belief and
Charlie loved my father beyond all belief.  And now they are together
once again.

Crying,
Bridget

So sorry for your loss Bridget. I say 'your loss' because Charlie was
obviously a tie to your father.

This is one thing that makes me grateful that Frank went before me,
because our bond was so strong I suspect he would have mourned himself
to death too and I would never have wished that on my special little man.

I'm so sorry Bridget. To have lost two loved-ones so close together is
terrible for you.  Poor Charlie. I hope he and your father now have
peace together.

Oh my dear :(  Charlie *is* with your father, you must believe that.  I can
only express my dearest sympathy and will light a candle for them both.

This is sad, but it's kind of beautiful in a way, too.  Be glad that they're
together again.  Purrs for your losses, Bridget.

Oh, Bridget. I am so, so sorry. Losing Charlie is like losing a part of
your dad all over again. I have heard that Siamese have very very
strong bonds with their people. It sounds like Charlie sure did.

I had a friend in military college who originally came from China.  He
loved cats, but said he would never get another because of what
happened to his cat when he left China.  He could not take her with him
(I am not sure of the circumstances, but he was ex-Chinese Army and now
has a job from the Canadian government who let him go to military
college in Canada, so, I do not know if his own country is hostile
towards him, and that's why he had to leave...I just don't know.)
Anyway, he made provisions for his sister in law to care for his cat,
but despite her best efforts, the cat refused to eat and died of its
grief at missing its beloved slave.

I worry about when Dylan is gone so long (gone 1 week now and 8 weeks
to go before he comes home), but ours seem too resiliant to mourn that
way, though Nocturne, never a lap cat, is on my lap every night since
he left.

Charlie and your father are in a better place now.

Sad, but beautiful too.  Some cats do form strong bonds, and I think Siamese
even more than others.

Aww Bridget, I'm sorry to hear that Charlie has passed over, but I am glad
that he will be with your father.  It's definitely a bittersweet ending,
isn't it.  Purrs, headbuts, and doggie drool for you, and Charlie's adopted
family.  Charlie and your father are having a great time now.

Tears of sadness, I think, become tears of joy when loved ones are reunited,
and your Dad and Charlie are probably laughing for pure love right now. I'm
crying with you, believe me; the loss of a loved one, two legged or four, is
always deep in the gut. My condolences to you, to have two loved ones cross
so quickly, and many purrs for your healing and happy memories. And for
Charlie to run quickly to his forever-person and he and Dad both to live
without any more tears.

Blessed be,
Baha

I'm sorry Bridget, but in this case, I suspect it was meant to be.  The
two of them had such a strong bond, and needed to be together.  I'll ask
the owners to purr for his earthly family as well as for you, and will
keep you all in my thoughts as well.
