HELP!!!
A friend showed me some photo's of the kittens his mum's owner had and
now I have bad kitten fever they are soooo cute and those lovely blue
eyes....
Mind you I have to share the story of how these fuzzballs of immense
cuteness (2 black and 1 brown) came to be born.
Shortly before last Christmas, Jules' mum went on holiday and asked her
daughter to look after her owner Smirnoff. She thought said daughter
would pop in every day or so to feed and clean trays etc. Daughter had
other idea, decided she would take Smirnoff to stay at her house for
the fortnight. Then did something horribly silly.....Smirnoff is a 5
year old mostly indoor cat (Her slave has a balcony, which she has
netted so Smirnoff can sit out there if she wants) so the daughter
picked her up and put her in the car....completely unrestrained.
Smirnoff was quiet until she stopped the car and opened the back door
at which point Smirnoff panicked and did a runner.
When Jules mum got back she had words with her daughter and I should
imagine most of them were variations on the form of "You stupid idiot"
then set out to find Smirnoff . Posters were put up, rescue centres
contacted etc etc.
Two months passed with no news- she got a new kitten, Oscar (Whose
role in all this is pivotal) but she still missed her Smirnoff and kept
going to places to see if she'd been handed in. Then after almost 3
months, she was at Battersea cat's home and there was Smirnoff!!!!
Found living as a feral in the area where she'd gone missing, starving
and flea riddden but safe at last! So Smirnoff was brought home, where
she was shy and a bit snappy for a week, which was put down to her bad
experience and finding Oscar in her home but after that week she
settled back to her normal laid back self.
Shortly after this, Oscar went to the vet's to have what isn't broken
fixed but it was later found the night before his op he had one last
fling with Smirnoff and the kittens were the result.
Now this caused something of a surprise....Smirnoff was spayed !!!
They can only conclude the "impostor" was a genuine feral cat whose
shyness etc in the first week was down to not being tame but who
swiftly worked out she'd landed on her feet.
The 3 kittens are lovely as I said....it's probably wise that I didn't
see pictures before now or I would have been giving the Furballs at
home a nasty surprise as it is their slave is keeping one, a well
trained Hoomin friend is giving a forever home to another as company
for her other two owners and Bill is taking one...Poor Bill...he's
always liked cats and always had dogs- he doesn't know what he's
letting himself in for! Still when I saw him a few days ago he was
buried in a pile of books on kitten and cat care and he's bombarded me
with tons of questions so I think he'll be okay. They'll all be indoor
cats as well that was a condition of being alllowed to adopt along with
neutering (and yes "Smirnoff mark 2" is going as soon as they're
weaned)

I hope Smirnoff mark 1 returns, or at least has found another slave
somewhere and is happy.

Did you examine to see if there is an operation scar? If the whole ovary
wasn't removed, there might be a possibility that Smirnoff No. 1 actually
conceived. MLB

Truth is stranger than fiction!
I hope the original Smirnoff is alive and well somewhere (unless
somehow she wasn't properly spayed in the first place and this *is*
the original. In which case, actually, I still hope she's alive and
well.)
