Deer Kitties
I cort a rat and brort it into the kitchen for meowmie to see, I puts it
under der trolley where she keeps all der eggs wot der chikkens lay.
Well, she dint see it, did she? So dis morning I kept poking my pawses
under der trolley and I fished it out. Meowmie says "oh wot a gud boy,
Boyfie, you cort a mowsie." I woz insulted. It woz *not* a mowsie, it woz
a rat!!
(Meowmie note: actually on closer inspection, it *was* a rat. Just out of
the nest, not much bigger than a mouse, but the thicker legs and bigger head
gave it away.)
Yay, Boyfie! They all count. Catching them little means they don't get
big! What a good lad.

Great Job Boyfriend! Did your meowmie eat the rattie you gave her?
Keep it up, if you catch all the little ratties, they won't grow up to
become big ones.

How ungrateful can one get? It isn't everyday when one gets a young
tender little rattie handed to you by your best boycat. Please let her
know that you aren't pleased and if she doesn't at least serve them up
to you and KFC that you'll just have to stop catching them for her.

Wish Boyfie could teleport over here and explain to Jake and Molly that
rodents are suitable prey. Sure birds and lizards are more fun. But Mommy
would be so impressed it they killed a rat.
Currently I can wash a load of clothes without water or soap suds running
down the drive way. Both hoses in the washing machine are currently intact
and the drain was cleaned out yesterday as well.
It isn't like the tiny little monsters need to eat my washer hoses to
survive. There is ample forage for any wildlife around here.

I'll ask him if he will nip over and give your two a lesson on how to catch
rodents. Can't guarantee success though!

In the meantime I suggest getting a "catch-alive" trap. There are various
designs available here, but don't use an enclosed plastic one, the wire mesh
ones are best. If you catch any, don't release them anywhere near your
house, they just come home..I learned that the hard way.

{Mommy's note: Carboration Day is a big 'celebration' at the Speedway, used
to be held the Thursday before the Indy 500 race, but employers were
complaining that workers were taking *5* day weekends (Thursday to party,
Friday to recuperate, Saturday & Sunday, then Monday is a National Holiday
here in the US: Labor Day, so after much deliberation, they moved
Carboration Day to the Friday before). I've never gone (even though I've
lived in Indiana since 1970), to neither Carboration Day nor the Indy 500,
although I *did* visit the Speedway on a class trip in high school (they
have a cool museum, with race cars from way back in 1911 (when the first
race was run, they've held 90 races yearly since them skipping a couple
years each in WWI & WWII), more info here http://www.indy500.com/faq/),
there weren't many of us that went, and some people were test-driving a new
model car on the track - they let each of us kids drive a lap around the
track in the car (with co-pilot, of course). This was back in the 1980's -
nowadays they wouldn't *dream* of letting kids drive around the track for
fear of injury and lawsuits!}
