Well, Kayla is home from her two weeks of summer camp.  Obedience training
and sheep herding.  I must say she is doing very well.

Part of her training is learning to obey no and off commands.

For the cats part, she and Molly are doing well together.  Molly is learning
to go easy on the sudden moves and Kayla is learning to keep her oversized
paws to herself.  Molly is the little calico girl that I was afraid would
leave for good when we got the puppy.  She will even go up and rub against
Kayla.

Jake is another story altogether.  He was raised with out poodles and played
and "fought" with them since he was a kitten.  But he has always been on
edge with Kayla.  More hissing and paw swiping than is called for.  Of
course that just gets her going.  I really hoped it would be better once we
got Kayla under more control.

Unfortunately, while Kayla was away, a big pushy tom cat from across the
street started getting really agressive.  Not just in his own area, but
trying to take over in our yard and garage and even back yard too.  Jake has
lost a couple of fights, even with my help and with Molly defending him.

Now if only Jake could see that Kayla keeps black and white Tom out of the
back yard.  Instead Jake's taking his shredded nerves out on her.

So here's hoping I can get across to Jake that Kayla is his defender, not
his enemy.
