Please explain why IBKFergus hurtles around the house in full halloween
mode, chasing greeblings, and why she'll bat pretty much anything that is
even remotely battable around for hours on end, and why her favourite place
to go a'hunting is the kitchen with the wood floor ao that if she's not
batting stuff or chasing greeblings, she's inthe kitchen crouched down and
bum wiggling, waiting for an evil dust bunny or stray dog kibble to appear
so she can bat it around more, but when a mouse, a proper real life mouse,
scuttles across the kitchen floor, she doesn't leap upon it with delight,
but nearly sh*ts herself in fright, and runs away, petrified, and won't come
out from under the lounge for nearly 3 hours?

Please also explain why Shmogg let the very same mouse run over his front
paw and did *nothing*, not even so much as *look* at what was running over
his foot.

And why Cary wanted to chase and play with the mouse, and kept trying to get
into the kitchen to look under the fridge, long after the mouse had made its
exit?

Please explain why my son is a better cat than the two felines in the house?

I don't know.  But I'm pretty disgusted with my two on assigned hunting
projects right now.

Had a nice fat field mouse in the kitchen last week.  It jumped out of the
cupboard right in front of Molly, ran across the floor and under the
dishwasher.  She gave chase for about five seconds and then went back to
bed.

She spends hours outside supposedly hunting in the vacant field across the
street.  Starting to think she is just stalking other cats and napping over
there.

Because he's had two of the finest teachers who, were simply etreating into
the background in order to see how their student would fair in a real-life
scenario, then they'd report back to The Mothership with his marks for
technical merit and artistic interpretation.

You mean you didn't already really know this???

Cheers, helen s ;-)

Cary is a curious intelligent child -- "curious people want to know".  On
the other hand, your cats are not hungry.  If they were hungry, they might
be willing to investigate to see if the mouse were edible.  As to why some
cats are playful and others are not, I don't have the foggiest notion.

Because she's a lady?

Because he's a gentleman?

Because he's a kid.  No '?' needed there.

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion.
Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom
they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less
easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side.

Obviously, you taught him better than their mommies taught them. :oD

Why would the cats exert themselves when they've trained a human to do
it for them? ;o)

I had a good chuckle at your post.  :~)   My Chloe is always on
bug/pest/lizard patrol, but Pua and Tyrone could care less, so I don't get
it either.  If Chloe catches anything, her brother Tyrone is right there, by
her side, watching, but he lets her do her thing.  Pua just continues to
meatloaf on whatever piece of furniture she's on.  They've each got their
own personalities, don't they?

IBK and Shmogg have taught Cary to be a great cat and they can now
retire in peace ;)
Purrs and best wishes,
Polonca and Soncek who is an excellent insect hunter
