I've told you guys how Sammy comes up to my desk chair and taps me on my arm
when she wants to play with her wand. I have little holes all along my left
arm because pokes me with her claws to be sure to get my attention.
I was concentrating on a particularly hard bit of code just now when she
scratched me (for the umpteenth time this morning), and I yelled, "STOP WITH
THE CLAWS"!.
Well, Sammy has *NEVER* been yelled at before so she got scared and ran out
of my room. *GUILT* poured over me in dump truck loads. I ran after her,
picked her up and kissed her while apologizing profusely.
Sammy doesn't like to be held, so she squirmed until I put her down. As
soon as her paws hit the floor she ran over to her wand and picked it up in
her mouth and looked up at me. OK, cute works where poking won't. I picked
up her wand and waved it around for 15 minutes.
Two minutes after I put the wand down, Sammy walked over to me and put
another tiny hole in my arm! *SIGH*

Obviously, you weren't supposed to stop playing with her after a mere
15 minutes. =o) You're falling down on the job, O cat slave!

Well, I guess that shows that yelling doesn't do a whole lot =P That,
or Sammy is fearless.
Oscar has definitely been yelled at a time or two.

When Sarrasine was a kitten she was not only yelled at quite often but
frequently put on probation. I'd get back from work and Dave would say
"She's too wild if she hasn't settled down by Monday she's going to be
taken to the rescue people"
Of course she still gets yelled at, the difference is no way would we
even think of sending her to the rescue people! (Funny thing was within
a few minutes of his saying that she would be all over him, purring.
Smart cat!)
