The horror of Lapnox

I've been absent for a few weeks in Ontario.  Purrs to those who need
them...

...and spare some purrs for me because I have a Lapnox.

Dylan tells me Nocturne's mood during my absence varied between
"despondant" and "infuriated."  WHY was I not responding to her
calls--was I dead?  Or just too stupid to find my way home?  She NEVER
should have let the human out, knowing damn well they can't look after
themselves!

So, now that I'm back, Nocturne is being a lap kitty.

Nocturne is never a lap kitty.

She's on my lap now, purring away and ready to bite me if I so much as
think of shifting my weight.

HELP!

Is it better or worse than a headNox?

I like it better because I can pet and adore her and feel the purrs.
My attempts to pet a headnox usually involve me poking her and promptly
getting bitten.

I had to give up my lapnox because Dylan went to bed and he hates to go
to sleep without her on his head (yes, she's trained him to crave her
abuse), so I had to tuck him in and put her atop his pillow.  She
promptly enthrones herself--she knows what he needs.

Boy do I know that...

When I was in the hospital in February, I was told that Stosh was just
VERY impolite: surly, antisocial, even antagonistic at times. He didn't
want to play wrasslin with Brandy, ordinarily his favorite occupation; he
didn't want his coming-home hug when Louie got off work; and used very
coarse language with Roxie and Odessa. I was in for four days, and when I
came home I couldn't shake my poor despondent Stosh! It was like cat
Velcro. I swear at one point I even walked about with a Stosh slipper, he
was so clinging to me.

Three days later I got in the shower and he came to play butt-boxing
through a hole in the curtain. I knew all was well.

Blessed be,
Baha

Our Sam was Charlie's cat.  OK with the rest of us but he was Charlie's cat.
Which was OK except Charlie was in the Air Force.  And the military in its
infinite wisdom thought it would be a good idea to transfer us across the
country less than six months before he was due to retire.  So he went and I
stayed.  There used to be a walnut orchard next to our house and it was
pretty much cat heaven.  Sam was totally pissed when Charlie left.   And
stayed that way the whole time he was gone.  He moved into the orchard
except for food and water and would have nothing to do with the rest of us
the entire time.

Aww, you're lucky!  Right now, I have on my lap someone who from the
top looks a bit like your "Ball of evil".  Very toasty and purry.
