Rusty is going back to the vet tomorrow for a recheck on the ringworm on his
ears.
I've following the vet's recommendation. Ringworm lotion on his ears twice a
day,
and a shampoo twice a week. Rusty's lost hair on his ears, but otherwise
looks fine.
The ringworm on my ankles are gone.
If Rusty's ringworm is still there, the vet may want to shave him. I don't
like the idea.
I may ask the vet tech to give Rusty a bath. I always worry that I didn't
completely
rinse out the shampoo.
It has been a very tiring month. I got tired of frequent vacuuming and
washing the
floors with bleach. I think Rusty is a bit stressed out too as he had an
upset tummy.
So please purr for Rusty. Thanks!

Purrs coming from this now ringworm-free household. I know what you're
going through. It took me almost 3 months to get rid of Pua's ringworm and
I ended up receiving 2 kind of large spots on my arm. Funny, it took me
longer to get rid of my spots than it took Pua to recover.
All the disinfectant, all the vacuuming, all the baths, the
creams.......sigh. I feel for you.
Good luck, Winnie, purrs are on their way.

3 months! Oh I hope not. I got rid of my ringworm with the use of tea tree
oil
in addition to the ringworm lotion.
But I read that tea tree oil can be toxic to cats so I didn't use it on
Rusty.
I won't let him sit on my laps anymore and we both miss the cuddling.
I wear gloves whenever I have to touch him and I am sure he misses being
petted.
The vet also wants Rusty to go back in 6 months for another shot of Program.
Not for fleas, but as an adjunct to his ringworm treatment.

More good lucks, Winnie. I know how hard it is not to be able to do the
cuddle-thing. I used tea tree oil and lotion on my ringwormed arm as well,
but I didn't use it on Pua either.
All the best!

Purrs for both of you. It took Sugar and Grant a little while to get
rid of theirs. I really feel for you guys.

Purrs for the nasty ringworm to be gone forever. Been there, done that.
Thought it might encourage you to know that once Frank got through with
the treatment, he nor any other of the cats, nor me, ever got ringworm
again. That was about 2001. I remember it seemed to take an awful long
time for the hair to grow back on Frank's head though.

Thanks for the purrs. This is the second time I got ringworm. Last time was
2 years ago, also in the spring. Rusty didn't have it then. The vet said my
immunity
was probably low when I get ringworm. So each spring I have to make sure I
somehow boost my immunity. I am taking garlic pills as garlic is a
fungicide.
Rusty had a urinary infection just prior to getting ringworm, so his
immunity was probably
down too.
Since I only notice hair loss on Rusty's ears, I am hoping it is localized
there.
Will find out in a couple of hours.
