One of the most fun things about having a babycat around (and Dante is
in many ways, still a babycat), is how everything is new to them--
even things that aren't really new-- and their "WOW!" reactions.  I
was sweeping outside, and turned around and saw Dante in the window
looking out.  I went back to the window, and he sort of jumped as he
saw and recognized me.  Mommy!  What are you doing out there!?  He
started talking very concernedly to me.  I walked up and down a little
bit outside the window, and he followed me back and forth.  I thought
this was pretty funny, so I started to run -- and so did Dante, his
eyes getting bigger and bigger.  FInally, I just walked inside, and
walked up behind him-- he was still at the window.  I said very
softly, "Dante!" and he turned around, gave a little start, a little
"Nyow-wow!"  then jumped right into my arms.  He's such a little
clown. ;)

Lily is like that - she's started being allowed out into the garden and
her reaction to the sparrows in the hawthorn bush is like "WOAH!!!!
LIVE FEATHERS THAT MOVE!!! HEY GUYS!!! LOOK!!!! LIVE FEATHERS!!!!"

The other cats are "Hey, Lil! You reeeeeeally don't wanna go in that
prickly bush..." and then I hear "MEE OW-OW-OW..." as she finds that
the sparrows who are tormenting her know *exactly* what bush they are
sitting in and that cats can't get them because of  the thorns....

She then washes herself, because she *meant* to look a muppet when the
thorns pricked her... no, really. She did. ;o)
