John called this morning. Hmmm, as soon as the tow-truck showed up the
truck started. Now, I can either choose to believe he had those car/truck
greeblings we have all experienced (you know, where the noise stops when the
mechanic tries to hear it) OR... I can believe he wanted to spend an extra
day hanging out with his friend Gary who was also an exhibitor at the show.
I've met Gary, he's a nice and fun guy. We had dinner with him at the
Kansas show last spring.
Honestly, it doesn't matter to me. But the woman he was involved with
before me, then after me (we're talking 23 years ago) and with whom he is
still partners with in some business ventures (grrrr) would have been
*furious* to think he took a day to spend with his pal.
I've had to remind him in the past, please don't project her reactions onto
me. Like when he called me last week *late* (1 AM-ish) and after we talked
a bit he asked if he could call me back in 10 minutes. Sure, no problem.
It was 20 or 25 minutes before he called back. He said, "I told you 10
minutes. You're mad at me, right?" Mad at you? Honey, I just figured you
got tired and went to sleep. I'm not HER. (sigh)
Either way, your purrs worked and he'll pick me up tomorrow morning at St.
Louis-Lambert for an exciting and fun 2 weeks!

Sounds like my husband. A few days before we got married he went out for
the evening with friends. Not a problem. Around 11 he called to say he
would be home in a little while. Also not a problem. He continued to call
off and on till around 2:30. Then when he did get home around 3:30 he woke
me up to ask me if I was mad at him. To which I replied half asleep, "Yes,
for waking me up at this ungodly hour"
