Persia is terrified of thunder.  She hides in the closet.  Well, it's
storming again this morning but it's almost time for her to be fed so she
has ventured out of the closet a couple of times to meow at me.  Then the
thunder booms again and she runs back into the closet.  It's too funny!

I think she expects me to bring her highness her food in the closet!  Sorry,
not going there, dear.  It's just noisy weather; if you want to eat you have
to do it where I do.  I might even give you some milk. :)

I swear, you'd think she was starving rather than being "fluffy" like she
is.  Don't blame her about the weather, though.  It's nasty again.  Still,
one thing you can count on.  It doesn't rain when there are tornadoes (is
Pat listening?)

Yes, but I don't see your point. Are you saying that when it is raining I
should not run to the basement or be afraid?

Sorry, just that as long as it's raining there isn't a tornado coming.
Knowing that might help alleviate some of your fear.  Tornados push the rain
well in front of them.

Awww, poor Persia! Maybe you could give her a little snack in the closet?
That's what I would do, anyway. I always feed my cats wherever they would
like to be served. I know, I'm "whipped". :)

Poor Miss Persia.  I can't tell you not to be scared because thunder
scares the bejeezus out of me, too.  That's what Mommy says.  By the
way, do you know what bejeezus *is*?

Love,
Stinky

Mommy says "bejesus" means it's very nasty outside and it scares us.  Dat
means we haveta hide inna closet.

Cali likes to lie in the window unless it gets very loud. She doesn't even
mind getting wet if we leave the window open a crack.  I think she likes the
smell of the rain. Smokey does not like the thunder and will hide under the
couch if it gets too bad. This got much worse after she had her incident
with the roof (stove vent) falling on/near her during the last batch of
renovations. She's got a bit of a Chicken Little complex now, the poor girl.
