I was using the Treadmill tonight, which just happens to be in the poop room
(no terdmill jokes), when Smoke decided she had to use the facilities. She's
not crazy about doing her business when someone is on the "silly machine",
but she's very good about doing her business. So I turned my head to watch
the proceedings.

She sniffed the first litter box (Small enclosed OmegaPaw), Sniff, Sniff,
"No I don't think so, not tonight". So she sniffed the second litter box
(Large enclosed OmegaPaw), Sniff, Sniff, "Nope, Nope, not that one". Back to
the first litter box, Sniff, Sniff, "No, definitely not that one, no siree
bob". Tried the second litter box again, Sniff, Sniff, "Could be, but I just
can't decide". "I'll try that first one again", Sniff, Sniff, "Those
definitely aren't my poops, it won't do". One more check of box two, Sniff,
Sniff, "Yes, that's the one".

She hops into box number two and turns around so her head sticks out the
opening. She gets a very serious look on her face while doing her business.
Hops out of the box and turns around to bury her offerings. Runs away from
the "silly machine".

Sounds like it is time for you to scoop!

I was waiting for someone to suggest that was the problem. But they get
scooped daily or better. I think Smokey wants to use one for Pees and Two
for poops, but Cali doesn't seem to follow protocol.

LB sounds like Smokey. Here, though, the two boxes aren't in the same
room. If she finds someone has used one box, she goes to inspect the
other, making two or three trips before deciding which one to use.
Unfortunately for me, she walks right by the computer desk while going
between boxes, and complains each time she passes.

Must be a lesser of two stinks issue.

My cats use one litterbox for one and the other for the other, though
Nikki messes it up sometimes. When she does, Frank is very displeased
and comes and yowls at me to sort it. Frank is as fastidious about his
litterbox as your Smokey seems to be. Loved the story, that's exactly
how Frank acts.

Lizzie also gets a very serious look on her face when in serious litterbox
mode, and also does something that I've not seen any other cat do:  She has
her front paws and one back paw on the bottom of the doorway of the
litterbox (we have the hooded litterboxes), always in the nice little row of
white paws.  One leg stays inside the litterbox, presumably for balance.
It's almost like she's trying to perch on the doorway and just hang her butt
inside the box.  When she does this, we call her Lizzie Three-Paws.

Yep, we have the hooded boxes too, seems to prevent overshoots and the girls
like them.

Smokey is anything but a serious cat. So it's funny to see her look so
serious when pooping.

It must be a cat thing. The only time I ever see my two concentrate is
when they're in the dirt box!
