Hi! This is my second post here.  Just wanted to introduce my babies!
Sylvia is a 6 1/2 year old grey tabby, a rescue from behind a
restaurant in Asbury Park,NJ, at 1 1/2- two days later I adopted her,
fresh spay stitches and all! Living with a human, interacting with a
human, was a huge adjustment for her- but now, though still a tough
hunter and able to handle her own 8 lbs quite effeciently, she is a
total cuddle muffin with me.
Annie is a 3 1/2 year old Maine Coon rescue, found on a road side as a
tiny kitten by a friend of the woman in Greene (Maine)  from whom I
adopted her at the age of 6 months.  True to what I've read of Maine
Coon personality traits, she follows me everywhere (due in part to her
kittenhood i think), talks even in her sleep, and loves attention but
always on her terms. She does trust me now and is learning to trust my
fiance- she is also hides less rapidly when new people come, but
remains jumpy and skittish around new people and strange/ unexpected
noises.
Sylvia is still put out at having to share me (though I try and try to
keep it even) but seems to start fights with Annie less now that Annie
is about full size, and twice Sylvia's size. (no one has ever gotten
hurt).

Well hello Spirit, Rumble, Phantom (beautiful cats you are!) and Limo
and Dumplin!
Okay Spirit- how are like a Boston Terrier? the one I know is very
active and jumpy, which may be you!  He also yips a lot! but maybe you
are very talkative?
Rumble, every kitty is uniquely marked and lovely in individual ways-
but your silver stripes do remind me a little of Sylvia's- she has
white feet though and I do see some pretty black on a hind feet and-
nice grey stripes on the front?
And Phantom- are you a little troublemaker? ;)
Dumplin, are you going through the spring sheds too?  Annie is getting
more frequent brushings- which she totally digs- with her new slicker
brush- she tends toward dreadlocks in her lion's ruff and just before
her tail...very rarely thank goodness because even though she is fairly
patient they are hard to untangle on a moving kitty!

Rumble actually changes colors he goes from the grey charcoal  to a distinct
silver when it gets cold weather
SPOILED ROTTEN.  you can see his spot he has marked

My DW brushes him every night  he was an abused cat  he actually does not
like the smell of a man after he has sweated  makes him very aggressive.  We
believe someone abused him in a sexual way.  But other than that which I
makes sure I have cologne on he is  a spoiled lap cat

and Limo is a spoiled brat also  we found her years ago when a limo showed
up to takes us out and there was a kitten in the back  hence the name

Hello Snoopy, Bagheera, and Adrian! So nice to meet you! What lovely,
sweet faces you kits have! such a sheen t your coat Bagheera- Snoopy
what handsome markings.  I see you like sleeping on the top edge of the
sofa (futon, armchair here) cushion too! It's a good place for a
lookout as you rest too and you can be with the humans but not be above
them and not sat upon or edged out!
I was advised of tinypics.com but we do are new to computer ownership
and do not yet have a scanner! One of the benefits of being behing
technology, I can probably get a decent one for under $100.00!

I have the CanoScan LiDE 35 which is well under $100 and it's not the
cheapest on the market, prices of computers and accessories are dropping all
the time. :-)

> Hi! This is my second post here.  Just wanted to introduce my babies!

Hi Kaleigh, and welcome to the group! I'm Marina, and I live in
Helsinki, Finland with my two cats Miranda and Caliban. I lost my two
elderly cats and my best friends last year. Nikki was nearly 17 and
Frank was 18. I still miss them a lot, but the youngsters keep me busy
with their hoolikitten antics. Miranda is a Russian Blue whose pedigree
didn't quite shape up to the current standards, so she needed a home as
just a pet instead of a show cat and breeding queen, and Caliban is a
rescue from our neighbouring country Estonia. You can see heaps and
heaps of pictures of all four cats at the links in my sig, and if you
stick around, you'll see how fond I am of showing the cats off. I'm
constantly snapping new pics of them and posting them, though I'm not
really a very good photographer. ;o)

Very pleased to meet the family! I am sorry for the loss of your
dearest friends.  I know my girls won't be here forever but I dread
that day and hug them all a I can.  Frank and Nikki, in their photo in
front of the rock, did indeed still look full of youthful catness. What
a wonderful moment, the two of them sleeping in the 'heart shape' as
you described.
Miranda and Caliban, your baby pictures are precious and wake up my
kitten cravings! I have never seen a picture of a Russian Blue outside
of cat books- astounding color Miranda!
Frank on the rocks- I love watching my girls play. And what an
atmosphere he had for playing in!

Those outside pictures are from our summer island, where I take the cats
for the duration of my summer holiday. I'm looking forward to next
summer, as that will be Caliban's first time out on the island.

Thank you for Joyce for our welcoming! They are sweet, although not to
each other if they know I'm around! My fiance swears they don't fight
at all when he is here and I am not home. But I'm onto them- on my
fridge is a photo taken by Nate of Annie sleeping at my side as I
napped on the couch, and Sylvia lying half on me and half on top of
Annie, and also asleep! Little buggers!

Hmm. What are they trying to convince you of, by fighting only in front
of you? That you have to give them more attention and pets (or treats)
to reassure them both that you still love them both? :)

I forgot to mention anything aobut my crew. I have 3 cats - two older
girls, Roxy and Smudge (ages 8 and 9, respectively). Roxy's a brown
tabby with a lot of white underneath, and Smudge is a grey and white
fluffball. Both are domestic moggie-types. The newcomer is Licorice, a
sleek, shiny black and white tuxedo (mostly black, with dramatic white
whiskers).

Smudge is demanding, bossy, and opinionated. She *must* go outside
several times a day, and if I don't hop to it quickly, she'll sit by
the door and yowl. Roxy is a zen kitty. "It's all good" is her motto.
She has tremendous patience and an all-around cheerful disposition.
But she isn't overly mellow - she does get the zoomies every day and
loves to play. They're both very affectionate cats and will cuddle
near me or on me. Licky, although almost 3 years old, is still a
kitten at heart. He *lives* to play. And he loves to do odd things
like take little objects off of tabletops or night tables and carry
them to who knows where. I'm forever finding small items in strange
places (such as a cherry tomato from a bowl of them in the kitchen, on
my computer chair). He also has a partly feral personality, in that he
is skittish and afraid of strangers. He even runs from me if I'm up
and walking around. But he loves to be petted, and if I'm sitting down,
he'll come up to me and emit a very forlorn cry, begging to be petted.
He has a new girlfriend, Tweed's Kitty Farmcat, but he still needs
attention from me. :)

Welcome, Kaleigh and the kitties! Soncek is a domestic short hair, tabby
and white, he will be 7 years old in June (time passes so quickly I can
hardly believe it!). We both live in Slovenia, Europe. Soncek is Slovene
for Sunshine.
I'm looking forward to more of your posts,
Polonca
