Yeah, and I can guarantee that it gets very hot. My father scorched some
of his plants using the cover. My thoughts were to let them play, under
supervision, during the winter then after this winter when I won't be
using the cover I would put screening on the frame and turn it into a
cat enclosure (unless the plants die within the first few weeks at which
point it gets screened in earlier).

Oh, well nevermind!!! ;>
Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you would harm your kitties, I just had to
make sure you were aware of the danger - little OCD* person that I am!

I did not take offense and you are right to have pointed that out. I
should have responded to your earlier post about the kitties tearing the
cover. I think Lacey would, she's terribly destructive. She's the one
who tears the tails off of all the mousies. I'm thinking I could put
screening on the frame before I put the cover on the frame and could
still use it as a greenhouse this winter and easily convert to a cat
enclosure in the Spring. Its something to think about anyhow. I'll let
you know what I think when I get it, hopefully sometime next week.

I would love to have an outdoors enclosure for my cats - we have the perfect
spot on one side of the house (too narrow to be of use as part of the yard,
but perfect for this. The only problem is that the only window to that spot
of the yard is upstairs. I was thinking of having a sort of cat stair that
the cats could use to climb down, but I'm not very creative when it comes to
woodworking (or anything "handy").

For creativity on our cats behalf nothing beats www.thecatshouse.com
My sister gave me the book years ago and I aspire to one day provide
something so wonderful (if not quite so brightly colored) for my furkids.

I'd seen a photo spread on the place in the LA Times a few years back.
What didn't stand out then, but it does in the floor plan is that the
two offices are 'cat-free' zones! While it may occasionally be an
inconvenience, having a cat between you and the keyboard is an
experience that no cat fancier should have to go without.
Considering the meows and door scratching noises that mine make when
DH is in the bathroom with the door shut, you'd think that the couple
of humans who also occupy this cat's paradise might as well let them
in.

Better off getting a Kitty Walk enclosure like I have for Persia. It's a
mesh thing and you can get it to stake into the ground OR to lie flat on a
surface like a patio (my version). With little kitty hammock and overhead
tent cover, there is a shade spot. She always has a bowl of water in there
and she likes to play with the pine needles that fall into it.
