I have a 9 month cat named Nagin who will actually say hello. He does
seem to get tired of having to do it repeatedly though. He'll only say
it if you say "Hello" to him upon first seeing him after being out of
sight for a while. One other person heard him do this last night and
said it was quite eerie.

My boy Possum usually greets me with a Meowlow i come home from work.
He's usually waiting right by the door for me and greets me as soon as i
come in. When this is occurring, his tail is up straight with a slight
bend to the tip and it vibrates. and it really does sound as if he's
saying hello. He also says Owwww for out

My parents' RB cat Patty did that too; she'd say "ruh-ROW?" and her
inflection was *exactly* like a person saying "hello?". She did this
whenever the telephone rang. :-)

At times it really does sound like a male with a very nasally, almost
New Jersey-ite accent saying, "Hell-OO!"
